Latest PREP Updates

January 26, 2022

I hope you are doing well as we attempt to navigate through this current Covid situation in the Lower Mainland. I am very pleased to announce that the Holy Cross Prep Program will resume “In Person” instruction on February 1, 2022. Please pay attention to the following important details:

  • “In Person” Prep Classes resume on Feb. 1 @ 7 pm (Please drop off your Children at the regular drop off areas by 6:55 pm and kindly be at the same areas for pick up at 7:55 pm. In an effort to maximize our instruction time, your punctuality during these times will be greatly appreciated)
  • As per continued guidelines from the Local Health Authorities, we are requiring:
    • all our Students to be wearing masks upon entry to the School Building
    • all our Parents to be going through a daily health check with their child/children and if the child/children present any symptoms, we ask that they play it safe and keep the child/children at home
    • all Parents or Guardians, are to be wearing masks at any time that they are in close contact with any other Prep students (this applies to both indoor and outdoor situations)
    • our staff and students to regularly hand sanitize
    • our staff and students to be mindful of social distancing
  • “Communicating Student Progress Reports” have all been processed and they will be sent home with the students on February 1st. Please ensure that you check through your Child`s bag for the Report. The document being sent home is for you to keep and there is no need to return it, as we have retained copies of all the Communicating Student Progress Reports in our files. If you have any questions regarding the Report, please contact your Teacher or the Prep Coordinator.
  • Feb. 15 – Level 2 Parents Meeting in the Church @ 7:05 pm (Topic: First Reconciliation) At least 1 Parent from each Level 2 is encouraged to attend.

Let us pray together, that the current Covid situation in the Lower Mainland continues to improve. In closing, I would like to sincerely thank all our families for their cooperation, patience and support over the past three weeks.

Looking forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday,

I hope you are doing well as we attempt to navigate through this current Covid situation in the Lower Mainland. In respect to current guidelines from the Office of the Archdiocese, we will continue with “Remote Learning” for Jan. 25th Prep Classes. Please take note of the following very important information pertaining to postponements and Jan. 25th assignment access:

  • No “In Person” Prep Classes on Jan. 25th
  • As per continued recommendations from the Archdiocese of Vancouver there will be no “in person” instruction on Jan. 25th and our method of instruction for our Prep Program Students will continue to be “Remote Learning”. Our Prep Administration Office will be sending home your Child`s Assignment on Jan. 24th for the Jan. 25th Lesson. These assignments will also be posted on our HC Prep Website, to ensure that all families can access the assignments. Please note that all January assignments can be submitted by the Students to their Teachers when we return to “In Person” classes in February. An update on when we can anticipate a return to “in person” instruction should be issued by the Archdiocese in the next week. If the Remote Learning Model of forwarding instruction appears to be extended into the month of February by the Office of the Archdiocese, please anticipate the Lessons being sent home to be more detailed in nature.
  • “Communicating Student Progress Reports” have all been processed and they will be sent home with the Students, when we are back to “In Person” instruction in February.

I would like to thank you in advance for your careful guidance of your Children as they work through the assignments being sent home on the remote instruction evening of  Jan. 25th. Let us pray together, that the current Covid situation in the Lower Mainland improves and that we can return to “in person” classes very soon. In closing, I would like to kindly remind you to refer to the HC Prep Website for regular postings and updates.

Thank you for your genuine support,

PREP Coordinator's Message

Welcome to our new Holy Cross PREP Website! Please continue to visit this website throughout the year for program updates and other important information. The registration form is now available on the "About" page. As we look back to the past 16 months of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we realize that we miss the personal connection of our program. If things continue to progress in a positive manner, we look forward to welcoming you back to our in-person program in September 2021.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Jackie Pavich for her many years of dedicated service to the Holy Cross PREP and sacramental programs. We wish her very well in her retirement.

I am very excited as I take on my new portfolio as PREP Coordinator at Holy Cross Parish.

Wishing you the very best always,

Mr. Dino Alberti
